Reviews

On our way to Tulsa we took the detour to try the place as the previous review pictures looked absolutely delicious and we were not disappointed! We had the Oklahoma Twister and the Cowboy burgers, along with the onion rings and loaded fries. All of it was delicious and we will be coming back! Loved hearing laughter coming from the kitchen too! Great little restaurant!

Anchor 66. A true burger dive…. If you are traveling Historic Route 66, the stretch between Bristow and Chandler Oklahoma, you have a weeks’ worth of meal options to choose from. Here is one of those outstanding options. A fine little roadside burger joint that has a well-established, justified reputation for putting out memorable burgers, fries and rings. Meals that the burger aficionados talk about on Facebook. A mandatory start to your meal is the corn ribs. A corn on the cob, cut in quarters long ways, grilled, seasoned with something called Payne County Rust, and finished with a sprinkle of queso fresco. Oklahoma Elote on the bone, if you will. Butter it up with a little of the cilantro lime aioli. Very tasty and rich. If you decide to eat the cob (not recommended), chew it up thoroughly, or you will be in for a rough ride tomorrow. Anchor 66 has a variety of burger variations. I like to keep my burgers simple and in their natural state. Grandma Retha is the one. A big smashed beef patty with cheese, finished properly with LTPO+M, no mayo, no ketchup. It comes with a big side of fresh seasoned fries. Look at the picture. Everything in that 5-star burger basket has flavor. Ice cream for dessert! How about a root beer float. The veteran, family-owned business restaurant operates in pretty tight quarters. Nine bar stools and four booths. Gas station and oil field motif. Pump tops, license plates and oilfield signs on the ceiling and walls. Great service today provided by Emily. And another plus. A two beers per customer limit, helps to prevent drunken fist fights in the limited space of the restaurant. Check the hours before you go. But, do go!

Awesome lil diner! Nice owners and staff! Had a yummy burger, fries and an amazing root beer float. If you are traveling toward Tulsa or OKC it’s a great stop on the way.

Driving from Arizona to Michigan and stopped in....best decision. They were busy, but all worked great together. Food was AMAZING. Highly recommend fried fish basket. The batter was out of this world!

We came in for the corn ribs among other things however, they were out. We will be back for them, though… Anyway, we ordered The fried mushrooms and ranch for an appetizer, and they were absolutely perfect. I ordered the fish and chips and my husband ordered the mushroom swiss burger, and the server asked if he wanted grilled onions for an up charge of $.50 and of course he did. He ordered onion rings instead of fries which was a two dollar up charge, but that was fine. They were amazing! I asked if the tartar sauce was scratch made, and she assured me that if anything wasn’t scratch made in the restaurant that it was locally produced. But yes, the tartar sauce and the ranch are scratch made here and so delicious! I will tell you that that was the absolute best fish, which is swai, that I’ve ever had. The batter was super light, crisp, delicious, and the fish itself was so creamy soft that I’ll be craving it until we’re able to make it back here. I got to take a bite of my husband‘s hamburger and being a mushroom onion and Swiss cheeseburger girl, it was one of if not the best one ever!

We stopped in the other day for lunch. We really enjoyed the decor and the old route 66 vibe. We each had a different burger, and they were so amazing! Our server Emily was so nice and wonderful to be around. She was very sweet and helped us make some decisions on what to get. This would be a great stop for anyone while traveling on Route 66.

We were just passing through and decided to take a trip off the main road and we’re glad we did. I’m not a burger person at all, but this was the BEST burger I’ve ever eaten. And the Mac and cheese?! AMAZING!! My entire party loved it! Portions are massive too! This is the chicken sandwich compared to my 12 year old!

This place was so good. First time trying corn ribs which were delicious. The burger was full of flavor and the fried mushrooms were my favorite. I ended up sharing half my burger with my mom, but I'm so full. I'll definitely be back.
